Amy Poehler’s Wine Country Has Fans Talking

Oh, and if that wasn’t reason enough to celebrate. Wine Country has the greatest cast line up we’ve ever seen: Tina Fey, Rachel Dratch, Ana Gasteyer, Paula Pell, Maya Rudolph and Emily Spivey. Spivey actually also wrote the script! Liz Cackowski, who also worked on SNL, also wrote the script. The premise of the film focuses on a group of friends who take a trip to Napa Valley to celebrate a friend’s 50th birthday.

Netflix posted a musical video of the cast celebrating, along with the message, “It’s happening, Amy Poehler’s directorial debut, Wine Country, is coming soon to Netflix! Starring Amy Poehler, Rachel Dratch, Ana Gasteyer, Paula Pell, Maya Rudolph, Emily Spivey and featuring Tina Fey. Get excited. Get real excited.”

The Team Behind Netflix’s Wine Country

Emily Spivey had worked with Amy Poehler on Parks and Recreation already and the duo have great chemistry together. Poehler has some directing experience to her name already. She directed many episodes of Parks and Rec, along with some episodes of the Comedy Central series Broad City. However taking the leap to an ensemble feature will be a true test for Poehler, however we don’t doubt the actress, producer, and writer will have any issues making the transition.
