21 Years Later, Tim McGraw And Faith Hill Make A Huge Announcement
When it comes to country music, there is no one bigger than Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. The country couple has been married since 1996 and has three grown daughters together – whenever you’re in their presence, at a concert, at a private event, or just watching them on TV, you can feel their love spreading through to the whole room. It’s a remarkable warmth that only two people as much in love as they are can emanate.
Since she first started performing in the country music scene (she was just seven when she performed for the first time), Faith Hill has gone on to win five Grammy Awards, 15 Academy of Country Music Awards, six American Music Awards, and many other awards. Moreover her Soul2Soul II Tour in 2006 alongside Tim McGraw became the highest-grossing country tour of all time. Just like his wife, Tim McGraw has racked up quite a few awards. McGraw won three Grammy Awards, 14 Academy of Country Music awards, 11 Country Music Association (CMA) awards, 10 American Music Awards, and three People’s Choice Awards. Together, they also went on to release the hit single “It’s Your Love”, their first single together. Quickly it landed in the number one slot and remained there for six weeks; moreover their single won awards from both the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association.
As we mentioned, in 1996 this duo exchanged vows. Their daughter Gracie Katherine was born in 1997, Maggie Elizabeth in 1998 and Audrey Caroline was born in 2001. And ever since their marriage, Hill and McGraw have attempted to never be apart for more than three consecutive days. From what we can gather, these two are the epitome of perfection and we adore their relationship. They’ve taught quite a few husbands and wives a thing or two about making a marriage work, and that’s all without the added pressures of show-biz.
McGraw and Hill have been going strong for 22 years now, and they’ve used their anniversary as a platform to share some rather unexpected news. Before we get into all of that, let’s start at the beginning, before they became the King and Queen of country music.
Fans Taken By Surprise
Before they took the country music world by storm, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill were just two musicians looking for their big break. When they met for the fist time in Nashville at the New Faces Show in 1994, the meeting was brief. In the blink of an eye, it was over. Faith was just coming off her divorce to Daniel Hill, a music publishing executive. Whereas McGraw was dating Kristine Donahue. Their stars weren’t aligned just yet, but when they did, fans were certainly taken by surprise.

Fans Taken By Surprise
Tour Team Up
Two years later, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill saw their paths cross once again. They became the headliners at ‘Spontaneous Combustion,’ a joint tour in the spring of 1996. At the time, Hill had recently become engaged to Scott Hendricks, her former producer. McGraw was still with his girlfriend, Kristine, as well. However the chemistry between the duo just couldn’t be ignored. Things were about to get interesting.

Tour Team Up
Kiss Me
Things certain got interesting when the two shared a not-so-subtle kiss onstage. I mean, he had specifically asked for Hill to open for him on his tour. He was that taken with her from their small meeting years before. And when they kissed on-stage, everything changed. Everything.

Kiss Me
Nothing But Sparks
As we said, the chemistry between McGraw and Hill was undeniable. Just one look at them on stage together and you had to wonder what was happening behind closed doors. Each night they spent on tour together, only brought them closer together. Until eventually they couldn’t hold back from one another. Even though Faith was engaged and Tim was in a relationship, they saw potential in being together. They just needed to make a decision as how to pursue things.

Nothing But Sparks
Feelings Growing Stronger
After a show one evening, McGraw invited Hill to his dressing room, she accepted. When Faith Hill entered Tim McGraw’s dressing room, they knew this could go only one way – McGraw made his move and kissed her, she kissed him back. Sparks flew between them so intensely, they instantly knew their lives were forever changed. This was the beginning of an affair and it didn’t take Hill long to break off her engagement either. But what about McGraw and his girlfriend?

Feelings Growing Stronger
She Knew
McGraw knew his feelings for Hill were unlike anything he’d ever felt before. “For me, there was an intense physical attraction,” he said. “I guess my girlfriend saw it in my eyes. She said, ‘I don’t want you around her.’” After he kissed Hill, he knew she was the one, the only one. McGraw broke up with his girlfriend and the relationship between McGraw and Hill only grew more intense.

She Knew
Love Story
When you talk about power couples, there is no denying that Tim McGraw and Faith Hill rank high on the list. As they continued to tour together, their feelings for one another only intensified. Fans were mesmerized by the gorgeous, young talented couple who were madly in love. Eventually they made their first public appearance together after months of keeping things under the radar as much as possible. In September 1996, they attended Andre Agassi’s Grand Slam for Children event and the media frenzy really kicked off.

Love Story
Nothing But Up
Not only was Faith and Tim’s relationship soaring, but so were their careers. McGraw’s fourth album, 1997’s Everywhere, yet again topped the country charts and would reach No. 2 on the album charts, selling 4 million copies. Hill was appearing on various TV shows, such as the PBS music program Austin City Limits. Her album It Matters to Me was a success, selling over 3 million copies.

Nothing But Up
No Regrets
There were many fans who weren’t happy that Faith broke off her engagement for another man, and they weren’t shy to spew their negative comments. “If someone is going to judge my character because I was engaged to somebody and then I left him for somebody else, I can’t control that,” said Hill. “But I wasn’t about to let Tim slip through my hands. And I had more self-worth and self-respect to not.” Preach, girl.

No Regrets
Unexpected Announcement
Their relationship was about to hit another high, one that the couple didn’t see coming, especially not so soon. In late 1996, Faith learned she was pregnant! She and McGraw were over the moon and everyone loved watching Hill transform – her baby bump was beyond adorable at red carpet events. Tim was thrilled by the news, but there was just one thing he wanted more than anything before their daughter was born.

Unexpected Announcement
Getting Down On One Knee
Tim McGraw wanted more than anything to be able to call Faith Hill his wife. He revealed the night of the proposal, and grab the tissues folks, “It was raining and stuff, and we’d been on tour for a while together, and I joked around with her about getting married. And so I said… I looked at her, grabbed her by the hand, and dropped forward onstage. She had already done her show. And I said, ‘I’m really serious. I want you to marry me.” When Tim came off the stage, he saw that Faith had written ‘Yes!’ into the mirror.

Getting Down On One Knee
The Reason
During an interview with Billboard, Hill and McGraw admitted that it wasn’t just their careers that bonded them so strongly. Turns out, that it was their background, their childhood that unified them. “Although our stories are very different, there was a missing link within our souls that we both related to,” said Hill. McGraw didn’t learn who his real father was until he was 11, it took years for them to have a real relationship. Whereas, Hill was adopted and grew up with a “gypsy” heart which didn’t fit in with her bank teller and factory worker parents. When the two began dating, they would talk for hours about how their relationship just would never work. Marriages between artists, Hill says dryly, “don’t have a good track record.” Nevertheless, they made it work, big time.

The Reason
The Adoption
Speaking of Hill’s adoption. She was born in Ridgeland, Mississippi and was adopted as an infant. Her new parents named her Audrey Faith Perry. With her new family, she was raised up 20 miles outside of Jackson Mississippi, in the small town of Star. Her adoptive parents, Edna and Ted Perry, raised Faith up with their two biological sons in a rather devout Christian environment.

The Adoption
Wedding Bells
Recently surprise celebrity weddings are all the rage, however it seems like Faith and Tim were the original duo to kickstart such a trend. McGraw and Hill invited their family and friends to Tim’s hometown of Rayville, Louisiana to enjoy a softball game and a concert. However, when everyone showed up, they were stunned to find out that they were actually at the couple’s wedding ceremony! At the time, Faith was three months pregnant, wearing a gorgeous white dress and was barefoot. Meanwhile Tim wore a black coat and blue jeans. A true country wedding!

Wedding Bells
Newlyweds
At the 1997 American Music Awards, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw appeared in public together after months of barely being photographed. This was the first time in months anyone had laid eyes on Faith’s growing baby bump! Moreover, everyone with eyes could see how madly in love the duo were and how excited they were to bring a child to the world. It was hard to hate them, you only loved them more.

Newlyweds
Forever
When it comes to knowing you’ve found the one, Faith and Hill are not shy to talk about their feelings. “I mean I think we had a pretty instant knowledge that we were going to be together forever,” McGraw revealed. While most celebrity relationships have an expiration date, these two have proven that’s not the case.

Forever
Gracie Katherine
The wait was over! In May 1997, Gracie Katherine was born and Tim and Faith were overjoyed. They couldn’t believe just how blessed they were. For three years, Hill had taken a break from recording as she wanted to focus on Tim and their growing family. Little did the couple know that their family would be growing yet again, and soon!

Gracie Katherine
Tour Bus
Personally and professionally, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw are inseparable. Whether they’re at home, on the road, in the studio, or whatever, they are together. And that’s how they want it. In fact, they ever humorously called their tour bus, the love bus. Hill jokingly said, “A lot goes on in that bus.” And we believe her! Neither one has even considered having a groupie, their love is strong enough.

Tour Bus
Family Life
Becoming a mother was like taking a breath of fresh air. It filled every fiber of Faith’s being in ways she never thought possible. Faith was overwhelmed with just how much she loves her family, how much she loves being a mom and a wife. She wanted to give her daughter the world, and despite her own fame, she was homesick whenever she was away from Gracie Katherine. “I can’t even say what my greatest fear is because I, I can’t even imagine,” she admitted in many interviews. “Being without my family … I can’t even say it because it makes me cry.”

Family Life
Sweet, Sweet Music
During her three year break from performing, Hill teamed up with her husband to create their first ever duet, “It’s Your Love”. The single remained at the number one slot for six weeks. Moreover, it even went on to win awards from both the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association. Hill revealed that are times when they’re performing that song together, and “it [doesn’t] feel like anybody else was really watching.”

Sweet Sweet Music
Best Feeling Ever
Hill wasn’t the only one who changed once she became a mother. McGraw watched his professional and personal life change dramatically once he became a family man. “It gives everything focus,” he said. “You feel like you got your arms around everything, and you know where your life’s headed. You just find a peace you never had before.” Faith and Tim were filled with a sense of purpose they hadn’t known before.

Best Feeling Ever
Hard Work
Faith Hill made the decision to re-enter the music business in 1998 with the release of her third album Faith. The new album showed off her evolution to a mainstream, pop-oriented sound, although it still had a distinct country sound. “This Kiss” became a number one country hit, and was also the first of her singles to place at the pop charts, at number seven. The album also featured hits with Tim McGraw, “Just To Hear You Say That You Love Me”, “Let Me Let Go” and “The Secret of Life”.

Hard Work
Tensions
In 2000, Hill would record a song for the movie Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas, entitled “Where Are You Christmas.. The song appeared on both charts, pop and country. However Hill’s success on the pop charts upset some of the country music insiders. They questioned if she was trying to ignore and behind her country roots and jump into the pop genre. Despite tensions, Hill won the CMA Female Vocalist of the Year Award – in her acceptance speech, she proudly announced, “I love this business, and I love this industry… and my heart is here.

Tensions
Five
At this point, Faith and Tim had two daughters at home (Maggie Elizabeth was born in 1998) and both experienced highs in their careers. However neither one was ready to call it quits, not professionally and not in terms of their growing family. Tim spoke to reporters saying, “Ideally, we’d love five kids.” Naturally, the reporters asked if Tim wanted boys and he replied with, “I always wanted boys, but in a way I want it to stay this way. Just keep having girls. That way I’ll always dress good.”

Five
Fireflies
Hill continued to experience success on the pop charts, but less so on the country music scale. Therefore in 2005, she officially made her return to the country music scene, with her brand new country album, Fireflies. Additionally her debut single, “Mississippi Girl”, quickly became Hill’s highest-debuting single. Fireflies 100% marked Hill’s return to her country roots and also succeeded in reestablishing her rightful place on country radio.

Fireflies
Some Mischief
Meanwhile Tim McGraw got into a bit of trouble with fellow country music artist Kenny Chesney in Buffalo, New York. Chesney tried to ride a police horse and while McGraw was trying to help him out, nearby officers assumed the two were trying to steal the horse and they arrested the country music legends. Both were charged with assault, although they were later cleared. At a concert with the George Strait Country Music Festival a few weeks later, Hill made an unscheduled appearance dressed as a police officer and at the end of McGraw’s set, she led him off the stage.

Some Mischief
Ageless
In 2017, Faith Hill turned 50…we know, she doesn’t look 50 one bit! Is it because of some special procedure or treatment that she looks ageless? Nope, it’s all about “confidence.” Hill told E! News, “I honestly don’t pay attention to [aging]. If I did, my girls would notice and I don’t want that. It’s not a message I want them to have. The secret is being confident — with your age, with yourself,” she revealed. “Life is so precious. We only have one; what’s the point of stressing about all of that?”

Ageless
Confidence
Both Hill and McGraw want their three daughters to have a realistic view on beauty. “Social media can be so cruel, but we’ve always emphasized the importance of having a realistic take and a healthy view regarding beauty to our girls. They know it’s not just on the outside. It’s really important to us to teach them that beauty is on the inside,” she said. “People can see your heart by the expressions on your face and by the way you carry yourself — they can see your happiness.”

Confidence
Bucking Tradition
In 2002, McGraw defied country music traditions when he recorded his album Tim McGraw and the Dancehall Doctors with his tour band The Dancehall Doctors. Unlike rock music, where it’s common for touring bands to make music on albums recorded by the artist they support, country albums are usually recorded with session musicians. However McGraw mixed things up and chose his own touring band, to recognize their part in his success, and also to capture the feel of a real band. The album debuted at No. 2 on the country music charts. McGraw wasn’t afraid of changing things up as an artist, and that’s one of the many things fans love about him.

Bucking Tradition
Touring Together
In 2006, following Faith’s six-year break from touring after the birth of her youngest daughter (Audrey Caroline was born in 2001), she came back better than ever. However when Faith announced that she was embarking on a tour with Tim McGraw, fans went wild. Their Soul2Soul II Tour 2006 became the highest grossing country music tour ever. How much did it gross? Oh, just $90 million. Moreover it was dubbed the “Major Tour of the Year” by the prestigious Pollstar, which meant it beat out the greats like Madonna and the Rolling Stones. Despite the tour’s success, there were tons of rumors floating around that the duo were about to split.

Touring Together
No More
As mentioned, their Soul2Soul II Tour becamethe highest-grossing country tour of all time, as it earned more than $141 million. The couple have three children at this point, Hill once said that it’s “probably the last time for a really, really long time” that the couple will tour together. Fans really hoped that wasn’t the case.

No More
Genuine
When Tim and Faith performed in New Orleans, they made a special decision. All of the money that performance earned, they donated all of the profits to Hurricane Katrina relief. This wasn’t the first time the couple, nor the last, would do such a thing. As far as kind hearts go, Tim and Faith are made of gold.

Genuine
Hitting Back
Naturally Faith and Tim were tired of the constant rumors that their marriage was unstable. So Faith fired back in an interview and said, “I’ve had an affair with my makeup artist, a female; an affair with my hairstylist; my marriage is on the rocks; Maggie is not Tim’s child, the naysayers. I don’t need their approval. I have too much going on. If that’s their entertainment, fine.” Clearly the duo had had enough. They knew the truth, and that’s all that mattered.

Hitting Back
Strength
Many of their interviews featured each Faith and Tim talking about just how wonderful the other was. Their openness on each other’s love for one another was evident at every turn. In an interview in 2000, Faith said, “Tim has given me confidence and strength and my foundation. He makes me feel like I can conquer the world.” And isn’t that what we all want?

Strength
Cue The Aww’s
But Faith wasn’t the only one to gush over her partner. McGraw said to E! News, “I’m lucky to have her. She’s the light of our whole family’s life. She keeps everything going for us. We all strive to be like my wife, everybody in our family. If your wife holds the example for everybody in your family, that’s a good thing.”

Cue The Aww’s
Leaning On Each Other
Tug McGraw’s legacy weighed heavily on Tim, but he had never given it much thought until Faith entered is life. Tim boldly spoke about his self doubts, revealing, “I knew I had that instability and dysfunction in me, from the way I grew up. And when I met Faith, I knew I needed her in my life–to keep me stable, solid and on track.” However, he would need her more now than ever before.

Leaning On Each Other
Support System
Even us Average Joe’s can recognize that life in the public eye is a tough way to live. Celebrities are almost always bombarded with criticism and false accusations about something and anything. This is a fact that Tim and Faith know all too well. But when Faith receives criticism, her biggest champion Tim is beyond annoyed. “Critics who attack my wife bug me.” He goes on to say, “It makes me want to pay ’em a visit so I could give ’em a good punch in the nose.”

Support System
Patriotism
Tim and Faith haven’t been shy about the love they have for their country. In 2003, they performed at the Army base in Fort Bragg, North Carolina for the United States Armed Forces. Tim praised the troops and went on to say, “Faith is just cool, she’s really a smart, smart lady that has got everything together and knows her priorities.” The military personnel loved their performance and Tim and Faith were keen to do something like this again.

Patriotism
Gun Control
After the devastating shootings that have ravaged America recently, such as the 58 people who were killed at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas and the Sutherland Springs, Texas, church shooting which killed 26), McGraw and Hill both made one thing perfectly clear: They support gun control. “Look, I’m a bird hunter — I love to wing-shoot,” said McGraw to Billboard magazine. “However, there is some common sense that’s necessary when it comes to gun control. They want to make it about the Second Amendment every time it’s brought up. It’s not about the Second Amendment.”

Gun Control
Gun Control II
Hill also spoke up about her feelings about gun control. “In reference to the tragedy in Las Vegas, we knew a lot of people there. The doctors that [treated] the wounded, they saw wounds like you’d see in war. That’s not right. Military weapons should not be in the hands of civilians. It’s everyone’s responsibility, including the government and the National Rifle Association, to tell the truth. We all want a safe country.” The country legends received serious heat from certain fans for what they said, and they even lost some fans along the way. However both felt that it was important to voice their concerns and make their opinions known.

Gun Control II
Addiction Battles
In 2008, Tim McGraw opened up about some demons in his closet. For years he was not able to perform unless he had a few drinks first, and for a bit that was okay, until it wasn’t anymore. The drinking took over his life. McGraw revealed, “Faith saved my life in a lot of ways—from myself more than anything. I can go down a dark road sometimes, when you’re not feeling good about yourself, and she pulls me out. My wife makes me a better man.”

Addiction Battles
Now That’s Love
In fact, he admitted that if it wasn’t for Faith, he would probably be dead. “Oh yeah, I would have partied too hard,” said Tim, who estimated he quit drinking for good in early 2008. “I might have caught myself somewhere along the way and put the brakes on. I don’t know if I would have gone [to rehab]; I don’t think I could have been talked into that during those times [before they met]…Faith saved my life in a lot of ways.”

Now Thats Love
Tough Love
Tim relied heavily on Faith, on her love, dedication, and kindness, however he knew he had to make drastic changes to his lifestyle otherwise his family wouldn’t be around to continue to support him. Faith told Tim that he needed to quit drinking otherwise she was leaving and she was taking the girls with her. Hill’s ultimatum was, “Partying or having a family. Pick one, buddy.” That was a huge wake up call for the country superstar.

Tough Love
Real Bad
In fact, Tim’s drinking was so bad at one point, that he gained a serious amount of weight. During the trailer for his role in the Four Christmases film alongside Vince Vaughn, his daughters couldn’t believe how big he had gotten. McGraw weighed 250 pounds, thanks to his heavy drinking and drug abuse.

Real Bad
A Changing Man
Immediately after Hill’s ultimatum, Tim sought new avenues to fill the void of alcohol. In no way was he prepared to lose his family. McGraw stopped partying and even gave up carbs and sugar. He lost a staggering 40 pounds and even developed some topographical-map abs. To maintain his physique, he tours with Roger Yuan, a martial arts expert who trained even Daniel Craig for Skyfall and Henry Cavill for The Immortals. McGraw does afternoon workouts which help him “sort of build into the character by the time we hit the stage,” he says.

A Changing Man
The Secret
For 22 years now, Tim and Faith have been happily married. Yes, there were some struggles and downfalls, but ultimately they have only grown stronger over the years. So what’s their secret? Tim explains, “She [Faith] would be perfectly happy if I told her, ‘Let’s get in the car and ride for two hours and talk.’ That would be as big a gift to her as anything.” Simple enough? We think so.

The Secret
An Honor
The amazing couple were simultaneously honored with stars on the Nashville Music City Walk of Fame back in October 2016. An honor they both so richly deserved. “The best thing that happened to me was in 1996. I went on a tour called the Spontaneous Combustion tour,” McGraw said. “And I had a really hot chick (who was touring with us). And I fought to stay away from her as long as I could. And that lasted about as long as her job at McDonald’s. I’m not gonna go into detail, but it was a great tour, I can tell you that.”

An Honor
Here And There
Speaking of McDonald’s, Faith Hill really did work there! At age 19 she left school and moved to Nashville so she could become a country singer. After selling T-shirts, Hill worked as a secretary at a music publishing firm. It wasn’t long after that she also worked at McDonald’s and hated it! “Fries, burgers, cash register – I did it all, I hated it,” she said.

Here And There
On Top
Maintaining a healthy, stable, and also romantic relationship isn’t always correlated with having fame and fortune, however McGraw and Hill make it work. And they make it look so easy. From balancing their careers to taking the time to be romantic with one another, this duo are still happily married. They also lend a helping hand to each other’s careers. McGraw appeared in the hit film The Blind Side alongside Sandra Bullock, and Hill was there to provide the soundtrack, Country Strong.

On Top
Only Family
When playing the part of Sean Tuohy for The Blind Side, McGraw didn’t find it hard to play the part. He could see himself in his character. “I’m very family-oriented. I’ve always been family-oriented. I came from a disoriented, dysfunctional family growing up. That probably instilled in me the need and want to have a strong family and a great foundation. That’s something I naturally gravitate towards.”

Only Family
Taste In Music
During an interview with Chateline in 2012, Tim McGraw jokingly said his daughters don’t like his music! Faith of course said that they do to which Tim replied, “They make fun of me every time I come on the radio.”

Taste In Music
Fragrance
In 2012, McGraw and Hill launched Soul2Soul, his-and-hers fragrances. This marked another growing professional collaboration between the duo. Obviously they named it after their most successful tour! How did they come about the idea? “Our personal life and our work together are two very separate things,” Fait said. “We have incredible respect for one another, and that helps when we’re pitching ideas back and forth.”

Fragrance
Agree To Disagree
Does Tim agree with his wife though? Of course! “We agree to disagree when we’re working together,” he explained. “There are certain things that she likes that I don’t like and vice versa, and you have to know that about each other, and then it’s cool. That being said, we generally go down the same road with what we do together musically. And in the times when we have pushed and pulled a little bit, it makes it even better.”

Agree To Disagree
Hard Work
If there is one thing this couple knows, it’s hard work. Faith said in the 2012 Chateline interview, “Hard work is definitely part of my philosophy. You have to follow your heart, although sometimes it’s not always the safest or easiest path to walk.”

Hard Work
Muse
Faith Hill said in an interview, “Tim inspires me every day in many, many ways. I draw inspiration from his assertiveness and from watching him being a father and a husband.” However even with statements like that, rumors fly left and right about what’s really going on behind closed doors.

Muse
Bad Press
In 2013, McGraw released his album Two Lanes of Freedom, but he wound up riddled with false accusations. Rumors flew around, saying that there was trouble in paradise, so Hill responded by saying, “[Rumors] seem to be running like crazy right now for some reason. It’s perplexing. I don’t know why ‘happy’ can’t be a story.” Tim would also add, “We’ve been married 17 years, and since the first week we were married those things were out, we don’t even think about it.”

Bad Press
Super Family
During an interview with Oprah Winfrey, Tim revealed that what really keeps their marriage strong is, “we close our door at home; we are husband and wife and a mother and a father.” When speaking of Faith as a mother, he said, “I think about the fact that we’re married and the fact that we raised these three beautiful daughters. And then I think about having three daughters and having [Hill] for their mom. It’s a pretty cool thing for those girls to have her.”

Super Family
Advice
Past country legends gave Tim McGraw some pretty important advice. “Johnny PayCheck gave me my best advice,” explains Tim in a 2012 interview with Chateline. “He was a country singer in the ’60s and ’70s, and he was hard livin’. We were on a bus before he died, and I asked him what kind of advice he would give to a new country singer – I was new at the time. He just looked at me and said, ‘Son, always go hard and fast so that when you hit the ditch you can come out the other side.’”

Advice
Dreams
Hill and McGraw recognize that their daughters might want to follow in their footsteps one day. “The one thing we stress is that you don’t get things handed to you on a silver platter — you have to work for the things you want, they know it takes hard work.” Hill added, “As a parent, you don’t want to stand in the way of their dreams.”

Dreams
As Parents
“Tim and I know what it takes to really do this for a living, but, as a parent, you don’t want to stand in the way of their dreams,” Hill explained to E! News. “It’s been one of the most difficult things for me as a mom — especially as a mom of all girls. You want to protect them; you want to make sure they aren’t disappointed.” We think they have the best role models to succeed in life!

As Parents
Talent Runs In The Family
Each artist has a massive fanbase, and their fans love it when the two come together and perform. In 2015 though, McGraw surprised fans by bringing his 18 year old daughter, Gracie, on stage with him! The two sang “Here Tonight” and the crowd went wild, even more so when Faith joined them. We told you that talent runs in the family.

Talent Runs In The Family
The Moment
After having performed together for over 20 years, Tim admits that watching Faith on stage still takes his breath away. “It amazes me every night, every chance I get to sing with her.” And with their success, they’ve watched each other perform a million times so it’s quite romantic that McGraw still gets giddy when his wife performs.

The Moment
Buttons
Tim and Faith have had their song lyrics scrutinized many times. Especially when it’s directed at something negative. “I know that sometimes you hate me/We spend most of our days together with you trying to change me,” the duet goes. Faith also sings that she “like[s] a good fight,” and she “know[s] how to press those buttons. And if [she’s] a little angry, [she] can press those buttons big time.” Sometimes though, lyrics are just lyrics. It’s your interpretation at the end of the day.

Buttons
Spats
Sure, Faith and Tim have their fair share of arguments, but they’re not as wild as you think. They’re just normal, married life arguments. McGraw spilled that “the last [argument] we got [into], [he] didn’t load the dishwasher or something.” See, pretty mundane. Although the media wouldn’t let you believe that.

Spats
Like One Another
Not all couples can keep the spark alive, it happens. However Faith and Tim are more in love with each other every passing day, we need to know their secret. Tim jokes, “Well, she tolerates a lot, I think that’s probably the main reason.” Faith jokes back, saying that Tim “tolerate[s] a lot too.” Moreover she adds that she is “not the easiest person.”Faith said that the secret to their success is simple, “we do actually like one another.”

Like One Another
Humor
Chateline asked Tim McGraw and Faith Hill back in 2012 if humor was the key to diffusing tension in their relationship. Faith said, “Always. I think that’s a good motto for life in general.” Tim just added, “There’s tension?”

Humor
Heart of the Matter
During a joint interview with Southern Living magazine, Faith revealed how Tim would try to win her over in the beginning of their relationship. “[Tim] brought me chicken and dumplings.” Faith explained. “[He] came to my house [unannounced]. He knocked on my door, and he had a bowl of homemade chicken dumplings.” Tim said that he also made her cornbread because he knew she would appreciate the effort it took him to create comfort foods from scratch, it would show her how much he cared! And if there’s one thing we know, the best way to a woman’s heart is through her stomach. Right?

Heart Of The Matter
Every Time
McGraw and Hill wrote the song for the film The Shack with Lori McKenna and Shane McAnally. When they were at the studio recording, McGraw told E!, “We wanted to write a song and record a song that followed the arc of the movie,” McGraw said. “I remember doing my vocal and then sitting back in the studio…[Faith] started singing and it just blew me away, her vocal.” He goes on to add, “When she does that thing at the end, where she just goes to church, with the ‘ah’s’ at the end, it’s a religious experience.”

Something New
On November 17, 2017, Tim and Faith released a joint album, The Rest of Our Life. Fans were overjoyed that these two lovebirds had collaborated on an album together, they couldn’t wait for it to hit shelves. They expressed their gratitude by saying, “We are especially grateful for our amazing fans and the talented folks who worked on the album with us, we are blessed to get to do this and, even more so, together.”

The Return
The album wasn’t the only news that Tim McGraw and Faith Hill announced. After 11, nearly 12 years, the duo announced they were embarking on another tour together! Their Soul2Soul The World Tour 2017 began on April 7, 2017, in New Orleans, and will carry on into Europe in 2018. Fans went wild at the announcement and tickets were quickly snatched up. McGraw said of the tour, “When I’m on stage with her, it’s like NASCAR trying to keep up with an Indy car. She’s just that good. So, to watch her sing and see what she does is pretty inspiring.”

The Return
The Rest of Our Life
Currently the couple are close to becoming empty nesters, so this tour and new album is way for them to prove something to themselves. And that’as exactly what the title track, “The Rest of Our Life”, shows – McGraw and Hill are confronting their later years, all the way down to expanded waistlines and gray hair. “Even if time takes its toll/We’ll stay young for the rest of our lives,” they sing in unison. For McGraw (whose childhood included an estranged relationship from his baseball-playing father, Tug), their marriage is vital “to keep me stable, solid and on track,” he told Billboard recently.

In Hot Waters
Speaking of “The Rest of Our Life,” McGraw and Hill (who co-wrote the song with British artist Ed Sheeran) entered hot waters after the release of the single. Australian songwriters Sean Carey and Beau Golden sued Hill, McGraw, Sheeran (and his co-writers Johnny McDaid, Steve Mac and Amy Wadge) as their Hill/McGraw song “blatant[ly] copyed” their 2014 song “When I Found You,” which Jasmine Rae performed.

The lawsuit is still ongoing, with “Carey and Golden seeking an injunction, at least $5 million in damages, royalties moving forward and attorney fees”. However Ed Sheeran is asking that the judge to dismiss the case as he claims their case hold no merit. At this point, no decision has been made.

Forever In Wax
Just before they played at their sold out show in Nashville in 2017 for the Soul2Soul show, Madame Tussauds, the world-renowned wax attraction, revealed their latest addition: Tim McGraw and Faith Hill wax figures of course! Both artists made sure to save time for some 300+ measurements the artist would need to take. But man, were all those hours worth it!

My Hot Wife
Over the years, Tim McGraw has not been shy about referring to Faith as, “my hot wife.” All that sexual attraction inspired him to write the rocker “The Bed We Made.” The song hints that when this duo do get some alone time, they, uhh, use it well. “Throw those pillows on the hardwood/Tangle those sheets up real good,” is a chorus in the song. Why not mess up a well-kept house, but in a good way!

World Tour Troubles
Currently the duo are in Ireland as part of their Soul2Soul The World Tour 2017, when the unexpected happened. Tim McGraw collapsed on stage. 20 minutes later, Faith Hill addressed the audience, saying, “He’s been super dehydrated,” she said. “I apologize, but I made the decision that he cannot come back out on stage.” The audience began chanted “We love Tim” so Hill sang an acapella rendition of “What A Friend We Have in Jesus”, just as the lights came up and the audience was slowly ushered out. We’re wishing him a speedy recovery!
