McGraw and Hill wrote the song for the film The Shack with Lori McKenna and Shane McAnally. When they were at the studio recording, McGraw told E!, “We wanted to write a song and record a song that followed the arc of the movie,” McGraw said. “I remember doing my vocal and then sitting back in the studio…[Faith] started singing and it just blew me away, her vocal.” He goes on to add, “When she does that thing at the end, where she just goes to church, with the ‘ah’s’ at the end, it’s a religious experience.”

On November 17, 2017, Tim and Faith released a joint album, The Rest of Our Life. Fans were overjoyed that these two lovebirds had collaborated on an album together, they couldn’t wait for it to hit shelves. They expressed their gratitude by saying, “We are especially grateful for our amazing fans and the talented folks who worked on the album with us, we are blessed to get to do this and, even more so, together.”
