As we have previously mentioned, their excitement did not go unnoticed on that fateful movie night. On the day they discovered the money hiding under the couch, the neighbors approached them and explained they heard all the loud and joyous screaming. They assumed they won the lottery jackpot, which is not all that far from the mark. News began to spread around the New Paltz area about their extraordinary discovery and unbelievable act of kindness. The Little Rebellion, an online student publication run by the journalism department at State University of New York at New Paltz, interviewed them about it. When the story was published, it caught the attention of many people.
